The Kate and Justin Rose Foundation team up with BookTrust to provide books for kids from the low-income families- books that they choose themselves and that become their very own. $100 provides books for one child for the entire school year and supplies the children with 18-20 books per year.
This past November, Kate and Justin teamed up with 10-year-old Tyler Davis. Tyler, wanted to share his love of books with his whole school and spent the whole year collecting them with the goal of getting at least 2-3 books for each student. In the end, he came up 400 books short.
The Kate and Justin Rose Foundation stepped in and took Tyler to Barnes and Nobles to pick up the final 400 books.
“When we heard about what this young man was trying to do, and how hard he had worked, we knew we had to help him out,” Kate Rose said. “For him to care so much about his friends, and wanting them to share his love of books, we couldn’t turn away from that.”
