The Kate and Justin Rose Foundation host two events each year to provide the children with new life experiences.
The first event is The Kate and Justin Rose Foundation Annual Bay Hill Day. Kate and Justin bring 20 children from Grand Avenue Elementary to the Bay Hill Invitational to watch Justin play golf. After walking the course, the children are treated to a picnic lunch at Amy Saunders’ house on the 18th green. The second event is the Annual Beach Day. 80 students from Grand Avenue Elementary have the opportunity to spend a day at the beach filled with games, food, and fun in the sun!
“You have to broaden their horizons to create new opportunities. Children need the world opened up to them to realize what their passions and interests are. When a child has something to latch on to, that is very powerful.”
In addition to two wonderful events, Justin and Kate teamed up with Home Depot to create vegetable gardens in their schools – a quiet place where the children can sit and have their lunch, read in the shade and learn about growing vegetables. The second graders are responsible for these vegetable gardens year round, and get to take the produce home to their families as well.
